Vincenzo De Vivo

Artistic director of Teatro delle Muse “Franco Corelli”'s Opera season in Ancona and Accademia d’Arte Lirica in Osimo

Vincenzo De Vivo was born in Salerno in 1957.

Since 1982 he has had directional and advisory roles in many European musical Institutions: Artistic Director of Teatro San Carlo, Naples (2012-2014), of Teatro Comunale, Bologna (2002-2006), of Teatro dell’Opera, Rome (1994-1997), of Fondazione Pergolesi-Spontini, Jesi (2001-2011; 2016-2018), Adjunto a Intendente of Palau de les Arts, Valencia (2006-2009), Artistic Consultant of Teatro Carlo Felice, Genova (2009-2010) and of Teatro Comunale, Treviso (1989-1995). He has also been Consultant for the symphonic-vocal activities of the Orchestra RAI of Rome and Consultant of SDR (Stuttgart Radio – Television) for the productions of Italian opera at the Schwetzingen Festival, member of the artistic direction of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte, Montepulciano, Board Member of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Siena.

He is currently the Artistic Director of the Opera Season of the Teatro delle Muse “Franco Corelli”, Ancona, and of the Accademia d’Arte Lirica, Osimo.

He founded – with Peter Maag and Gianni Tangucci – “La Bottega” for young singers and musicians at the Teatro Comunale, Treviso and he promoted the opening of the “Centre Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo” at the Palau de Les Arts, Valencia.

He has been a teacher at the Corso superiore di Management musicale of the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Rome and he collaborated with the Accademia di Arti e Mestieri of the Teatro alla Scala, Milan, the Scuola dell’Opera, Bologna, the Accademia Paolo Grassi, Martina Franca, the Accademia Verdiana delTeatro Regio, Parma.

He is member of the jury in several international competitions.

He is the author of several librettos: Tancredi appresso il combattimento by Claudio Ambrosini (2016), Mettici il cuore by Valentino Corvino (2019), Bach Haus by Michele Dall’Ongaro (2001), Il vagabondo delle stelle by Fabrizio Festa (2014), Lontano dagli occhi (1999) and Mozart a Recanati (2006) by Lorenzo Ferrero, Gli errori di Amadé by Lucio Gregoretti (2013), Passio et Resurrectio by Sergio Rendine (2000), Nûr by Marco Taralli (2012). He is the librettist of Alienati, smartworking opera, realized in 2020, during the lockdown, for the Teatro Coccia, Novara.

He curated the Italian rhythmical version of operas by Bizet, Mozart, Offenbach, J. Strauss jr., Strawinskij.
